Towson lacrosse will play Delaware to decide who wins top honors in the CAA Lacrosse Championship.
Towson lacrosse will meet Delaware in the 2024 CAA Lacrosse Championship to decide top honors. It felt nearly inevitable that the top two seeds would battle at the pinnacle of the conference season.
Towson finished the season 11-3, and in the most recent USILA Top 25 Coaches Poll landed at No. 15. The Tigers ended the season on the seven-game winning streak, and added one more in the CAA semifinals.
Delaware finished the season 8-4 and ranked No. 19 in the most recent USILA Top 25. Despite three less wins, the Blue Hens are strong on both offense and defense. Mike Robinson ended the season ranked in top 10 in the NCAA in goals per game, with 3.00, while the Blue Hens defense was the best of the NCAA season. Delaware allowed an average of only 8.08 goals per game, and finished the regular season allowing 105 goals over 13 games.
The winner will get an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, and with top seeds Denver and Johns Hopkins losing in their, respective tournaments, anything can happen.
Towson will play Delaware for the CAA Lacrosse Championship on May 4 at 3:30 EDT at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Marland.
